Timeless Southern Heritage
The beautiful, transitional concepts of southern homes are as appealing today as they were during antebellum grandeur. Southern living and architecture has evolved, but continues to influence generations by gracefully integrating function and form with aesthetic charm. This architectural genre, along with our southern hospitality, informs our Timeless Southern HeritageSM…and is the inspiration for our services. We develop communities and build fully customized, one-of-a-kind homes within them.
Here’s how it works:
1 – Look through our concepts on this page to get an idea of our theme.
2 – Visit with us and meet the builder.
3 – Select a lot parcel from those available on table or interactive map above. (Or, purchase a model home)
4 – Meet with one of our architects, or bring your own, and sketch your dream home.
5 – Close on selected lot and start construction.
Here’s what to expect:
This is a fully-custom, dream-home experience. We start with your ideas, needs, inspirations/pictures, and craft your home uniquely for you. Start with your plan or modify one of our concepts. There are no pre-set plans; each home is one-of-a-kind and will never be duplicated by us.
We guide you through this process, offering selections of architects, designers, landscapers we work closely with.
Financing options are available for both construction and mortgage through local bank relationships where Southern Gentry Homes is already qualified.
Our banking partners have the ability to utilize equity in your current home so you can remain in place while we build your new home. Most homes in this community are 3,500 – 4,300 SF and can be generally estimated at $300/conditioned SF to build.
The process spans approximately 12 months from lot purchase to occupancy.

We are please to be in Forsyth County, one of the most up & coming places in Georgia
The land of present-day Shiloh Preserve was acquired from the Klutz Family, which had owned the land for several decades. Originally, it was the Klutz family’s country retreat and cabin, where Jimmy Haynes Klutz’s daughters, Heather and Ashley, spent summers & weekends. Over the years, the family planted vegetable gardens, built a cabin, and hosted Easter sunrise services with neighbors, and the future parishioners of St. Brendan’s church, now only 2 blocks away.
Later, the site became the Shiloh Tree Farm where Jimmy, landscape architect by trade, cultivated a variety of trees and bushes for commercial use.
Southern Gentry Homes acquired the property in 2023 to develop a new residential community, and joyfully inherited a healthy inventory of viburnum, tea olive, ligustrum, cherry, holly, and burning bush, which are integrated with the current landscape. Of the trees remaining after Jimmy’s retirement, the most notable were over 1,000 mature crape myrtles (averaging 30 feet tall). The trees were so majestic, Southern Gentry harvested and staged some of the best specimens during construction, and replanted a continuous row of (60) Muskogee and Natchez crape myrtles along the border of the new private streets. In fact, the internal streets are named for those species: Natchez Lane & Muskogee Ct. When harvesting, a specialized tree spade truck was required to dig, tote, and replant each 12,000 lb tree.
Interestingly, Natchez trees produce white blooms while Muskogee produce red blooms. The under-canopy tree species forwards the heritage of the land as the terms derive from native American language – this location was originally inhabited by the Cherokee.
